As many of you know, CRROW has had two foster dogs undergo surgery this week (6/30/12). We need to raise $2,000 pay for these surgeries. June, Louie and CRROW thank you for your generosity.
-
June – a senior foster dog that came into rescue this spring with severe glaucoma and had to have her eye removed along with several teeth. She was doing well and then started scratching her healed incision. Sue took her to the vet and they decided to operate again on the eye to find the source of her discomfort. She is not a very happy dog right now but hopefully in a week, she will feel better and regain her pleasant, laid back attitude. June’s second surgery was $900.
- Louie began vomiting Wednesday afternoon. Initially he was just vomiting his breakfast and a few pieces of a toy. Thinking now that the toy was out, he would start to feel better, Pam tried to give him a little rice for dinner. He immediately vomited again, this time only bile. Pam called the vet and described his symptoms. Since it was after hours, Pam watched him all night and he continued to vomit, unable to keep water down. By morning, we determined he definitely had a blockage and would need x-rays and surgery. Our normal vet was booked an unable to fit Louie in for surgery so referred us to another local vet. Louie underwent surgery at noon and they removed a part of a rubber dog toy that was lodged between his duodenum and ileum. Louie’s surgery was $1200.
If you can donate any amount of money to help CRROW pay these two bills, we would appreciate it. Part of the challenge with rescuing dogs and many required extensive vet care and the adoption fees we receive are not enough to cover the vet costs. We are constantly working to raise funds to keep our current and future fosters in good health. We would appreciate any donations to help us with these wonderful dogs and our generous vet clinics who always discount their services as much as they can.
